ME4D: Mobile Evolution for Development

Mobile Evolution for Development (ME4D) is a one-year Master student project at the University of Bremen that started in October 2016. The project aims to carry out further development in the Mobile4D framework. Mobile4D is a reporting and alerting software framework to support rapid communication between citizens and administrative authorities in disaster situations. This framework is built upon the concept of user-centered development, whereas the project itself is based on a collaboration with partners from Lao PDR. Since 2011, the Lao Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry (MAF) and the National University of Laos (NUoL) are in strong collaboration with the team of the Capacity Lab to apply various concepts of Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D).

The project consists of 20 informatics students of the University of Bremen. The project is supervised by Jasper Van de VenAhmed Loai AliThomas Barkowsky, and Christian Freksa.
