BMBF funded cooperation with National University of Laos started

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funds a cooperation project of the Capacity Lab between the University of Bremen and the National University of Laos (NUoL) in Vientiane. The project is called "Participatory Action in Developing Countries with Mobile Device Support - a Crowdsourcing Approach for Early Disaster Response and Help".

The Capacity Lab will carry out the project with the Department of Forestry at NUoL. The grant mainly targets at scientific exchange between the universities. Goal of the project is to monitor and enhance our mobile4D disaster alerting system. In the scope of this cooperation and with support of our partner, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) in Laos, a pilot installation of mobile4D will be installed in a whole province in Laos in January 2015.

BMBF funding is running until August 2016 under grant 01DP14001.
